Complimentary Consultation |
Definitions of a "Consultant"
Throughout the course of our 29 years in the consulting business, we at Corlyx Corporation
have often been asked to define the term "Consultant."
The cynical definition is, of course,
"an out-of-work executive between jobs."
The literary version from Oscar Wilde is
"an ordinary person, away from home, giving advice."
The humorist's perspective is
"someone who borrows your watch and charges to tell you the time."
The formal, but limiting, definition is
"a professional who gives advice and/or information to a client for a fee."
A broader, all-encompassing definition is
"a professional who, through the application of a well defined
service delivery process, brings to bear a special expertise, gained through education and/or experience, for the
benefit of a client, in the resolution of that client's problem or particular need."
And finally, as described by their deeds,
"good consultants ask good questions; poor consultants have all the answers."
Let us ask you some good questions and together we will formulate some good answers.
